Education & Experience Coordinator ( x 2 )

  • Casual up to 35 hours available / 5 days per week

  • The hours of work will be spread between weekdays and weekends

Working with the Manager, Experiences & Visitors the Education and Experience Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery excursions, workshops, and school, public and outreach programs. This role will contribute to the evaluation, creation and risk assessments of experiences and encounters, and coordinate the Early Start Risk committee.

Floor Supervisor ( x 1 )

  • Casual up to 28 hours available / 4 days per week

  • The hours of work will be spread between weekdays and weekends.

The Floor Supervisor manages the day to day operation of the Discovery space including leadership and support for the  Early Start Discovery Space education and volunteer team. Reporting to the Manager, Experiences & Visitors the Floor Supervisory is responsible for all visitor and volunteer interactions and the management of staff during their shift.

Tasks include opening and closing of the Discovery Space, general floor operations to ensure visitor safety, enjoyment and comfort and appropriate management and reporting of First Aid incidents. The Floor Supervisor conducts volunteer briefings, assists in the supporting the education officers and other floor staff on delivery of guided educational programs for preschool and primary school groups, facilitates and manages birthday parties at the Early Start Discovery Space, and maintain safety policy and procedures.

Education & Experience Coordinator
Selection Criteria:

1. Degree in Early Childhood, Primary Education or other relevant qualifications and experience.
2. Experience in designing and delivering high quality educational school holiday workshops, public programs and special events for children from birth to 10 years.
3. High level written and verbal communication skills
4. Experience in risk management procedures and practices including development of risk assessments and safe work practices
5. Ability to engage with children and families from a diverse range of backgrounds
6. Capacity to provide leadership to staff and volunteers
7. Event management and coordination skills, including experience in running events with large groups of children and their carers.
8. Administration skills including the ability to work in all MS programs
9. High level organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines and produce quality work in tight time frames

  • High level Interpersonal attributes

  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team

  • Ability to work well under pressure

Floor Supervisor
Selection Criteria:

1. High level written and verbal communication skills
2. Administration and rostering skills including the ability to work in all MS programs
3. High level organisational and time management skills
4. Experience in educational content delivery
5. Ability to engage with children and families from a diverse range of backgrounds
6. Event management and coordination skills, including experience in running events with large groups of children and their carers
7. Capacity to provide leadership to teams of casual staff and volunteers

Personal Attributes:

  • Self-organisation and management skills

  • High level Interpersonal attributes

  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team

  • Ability to work well under pressure
