Australian College of Applied Business (ACAB) is one of the progressive Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) based in Canberra, ACT. The college is currently offering certificate to diploma level courses in business to domestic students and corporate clients, with a plan to extend the scope of registration in the near future. The college is awaiting registration as a provider of educational services to overseas students (CRICOS) and looking to expand its team to support the new operations.

We are seeking expressions of interest from qualified Course Coordinators who have proven experience in their respective fields to join our academic team;

  • Canberra (ACT) CBD location
  • Permanent contract
  • Academic leadership role

To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
 

  • Tertiary qualification in business or management related domains/fields;
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110/TAE40116) or higher;
  • Experience of efficiently administrating and coordinating academic programs in a training or education environment, including timetabling and scheduling classes/sessions;
  • Sound knowledge of the relevant Standards for RTOs 2015, and The National Code 2018, and ensuring compliance in the academic processes;
  • Sound knowledge of RPL process, credit transfer, and the AQF guidelines;
  • Sound knowledge of the requirements of the relevant ESOS standards in relation to course progress, course completion, student enrolments, deferments, suspensions, overseas students transfer, and academic complaints and appeals;
  • Ability to coordinate implementation of training courses, strategies, and units of competency as per the training package and college requirements;
  • Ability to effectively plan and manage contact and interaction between trainers and students;
  • Ability to develop and manage trainer skill matrices, and ensure trainer/assessor compliance;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, colleagues and other college stakeholders;
  • Sound knowledge of student learning support and experience in dealing with multi-cultural student cohorts in a training or an educational environment;
  • High level computer skills including the Microsoft Office package (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and
