We are PFD Food Services, Australia's largest privately owned food service company (www.pfdfoods.com.au). Established in 1943, PFD now has almost 70 branches in metropolitan and regional areas around Australia. We have a broad range of customers such as local restaurants, cafes, hospitals, schools, pubs and clubs!
The Role
The purpose of this role is to deliver product in good condition and in an effective and timely manner to PFD customers. The role involves multiple delivery drops over a route run, high physical requirement and the ability to manual lifting of approximately 5-6 tonnes of product by hand and from time to time, shifts may extend up to 12 hours. The role is an integral part of an excellent transport team servicing many café’s and restaurants throughout Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver products (including chilled and frozen products) to customers as per invoice requirements
- Obtain and be responsible for payment from customers
- Ensure all invoices are signed by customers
- To undertake all duties in a safe responsible and courteous manner
- Practice safe and correct manual handling
- Correctly present paperwork as per company procedures
Key Competencies, Skills and Qualifications
- HR or MR Truck licence
- Forklift licence preferable
- Ability to work overtime
- Good understanding of warehouse & transport operations preferably in the food service industry
- Multi drop experience
- Good communication, time and organisational skills
- Highly motivated, flexible with a solid work ethic and positive attitude
- Physically fit with the ability to load and unload truck within safety guidelines
