About the role
Due our expanding production requirements, an opportunity exists for a practical and experienced Machine Operator to support our CNC milling machining operation.
This position will be responsible for:
- Operating 5-axis CNC equipment to machine parts
- Perform fixture and tool setups following detailed work instructions
- Load parts and holding fixtures utilising lifting equipment, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements
- Maintain local inventory of consumables, tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Performs preventive maintenance as required
- Performing calibration checks using various precision equipment and methods
- Maintaining clean equipment, machines, parts and surroundings at all times in line with our lean production
- Operating in a safe manner at all times whilst maintaining the highest quality production outputs to achieve the production schedule.
Skills and experience
Our ideal candidate will able to demonstrate experience with:
- 5-axis CNC milling machining experience
- Aerospace and/or automotive industry preferred although Tooling, Defence, Manufacturing, Jobbing or Marine industry experience will be considered
- A practical working knowledge of machining carbon or fiberglass composites, aluminium or reinforced plastic parts
- Right attitude towards continues improvements and developing skills to achieve cross training
- Adhere to company Quality and Safety standards, policies and procedures at all times
