About the role

Due our expanding production requirements, an opportunity exists for a practical and experienced Machine Operator to support our CNC milling machining operation.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Operating 5-axis CNC equipment to machine parts
  • Perform fixture and tool setups following detailed work instructions
  • Load parts and holding fixtures utilising lifting equipment, proving tapes, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements
  • Maintain local inventory of consumables, tools and  personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Performs preventive maintenance as required
  • Performing calibration checks using various precision equipment and methods
  • Maintaining clean equipment, machines, parts and surroundings at all times in line with our lean production
  • Operating in a safe manner at all times whilst maintaining the highest quality production outputs to achieve the production schedule.

Skills and experience

Our ideal candidate will able to demonstrate experience with:

  • 5-axis CNC milling machining experience
  • Aerospace and/or automotive industry preferred although Tooling, Defence, Manufacturing, Jobbing or Marine industry experience will be considered
  • A practical working knowledge of machining carbon or fiberglass composites, aluminium or reinforced plastic parts
  • Right attitude towards continues improvements and developing skills to achieve cross training
  • Adhere to company Quality and Safety standards, policies and procedures at all times
