About Orontide
Orontide is a leading Western Australian company providing specialist engineering, fabrication, preservation, and integrity maintenance services to the Oil & Gas, Mining, Naval Defence, Marine and Commercial Industries.
This is a newly created position, due to structural changes as a result of the company's continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced Production Planner to join our Henderson based team.
About the Role
Reporting to the Planning Team Leader, the main function of the role will be to ensure that the planning tasks for steelwork fabrication and repair / maintenance of rotable equipment. This includes raising purchase requisitions, creating BOMs, expediting where required and coordinating any subcontract services.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the planning and coordination of work in our Henderson workshop. Ideally, we looking for a candidate with a trade background, or alternatively we would consider a graduate engineer who has an interest in a planning function.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the preparation of production schedules
- Creating BOMs and other job specific information needed for manufacture/repair
- Coordinating subcontract services for manufactured items
- Arranging purchase requisitions and follow up expediting
- Monitoring of job progress and detailing production progress
- Advising relevant department managers of any issues or manufacturing constraints
- Assist in the preparation and submission of tenders
- Liaising with the Production team and plan jobs from start to completion
- Liaising with the QA/QC Team to ensure closing reports are submitted to the client on delivery
To be successful for this position, you must possess the following:
- Relevant trade qualifications or graduate engineering qualifications
- Post-trade qualifications will be well regarded
- The ability to read and understand complex drawings
- Experience in planning and scheduling
- Ability to create manufacturing BOMS and work packs
- Commitment to safety and quality
- Be a highly motivated individual and be able to work under minimal supervision
- Experience coordinating subcontract services
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Advanced MS Office skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy, particularly ERP systems and Excel
- Industry exposure or knowledge of fabrication or fitting & machining
- Assisting in preparation of production schedules and workflow
