As a Sheetmetal Machine Operator, your role is key in ensuring fabricated parts are made to meet strict deadlines. You will be trained to operate a guillotine, brake press, or turret punch machine and may be cross-trained to increase your skills. Your positive attitude and strong work ethic make you a sought after employee. More specifically your duties will include:

• Operate a guillotine, brake press or turret punch machine
• Select correct materials from stock
• Read drawings
• Operate power tools
• Conduct minor machinery maintenance

In determining suitability for the role, the following criteria are considered essential:

• Reliable and hardworking
• Capable of undertaking intense, on the job training
• Capable of undertaking manual handling relating to the role
• Willing to change from night shift to afternoon or day shift (relevant shift allowances apply)
• Comply with Work Health and safety requirements
• Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
• Pass in year 10 English

The following criteria are considered desirable:

• Current HR LF (Forklift) Licence
• Experience in operating CNC machines
• Experience in reading technical drawings
