The Position
Reporting to the Head of Logistics, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing all facets of the Distribution Centre with particular emphasis on:
- Leading a warehouse of 16+ team members
- Management of route planning
- Time critical inventory movement. Responsible for control / coordination of stock takes and meeting of the agreed targets.
- Management of warehouse KPIs (DIFOT, Inventory record Accuracy, picking accuracy, productivity etc.)
- Providing high levels of service to all internal and external stakeholders
- Optimisation and maintenance of efficiencies across the operation as well as identifying opportunities and implementing strategies to achieve this
- Ensure the efficient and prompt receipt of all inbound shipments to ensure that demurrage costs are not incurred and stock is available as quickly as possible
- Management of labour hire budget
- Oversee the fulfilment flow of the warehouse operations team to ensure the effective operation of the warehouse from order processing, picking, packing and dispatch.
The Warehouse Manager will also be responsible for delivering projects such as customer notification SMS, expansion of service by geography, and route optimisation.
We are seeking someone with:
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- The ability to self-motivate and achieve results
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role
- Experience in route planning and influencing vehicle utilisation and cost control
- Experience in Inventory management is desirable
- A Certificate III Transport and Logistics
- Experience with warehouse management systems (ASW or SAP an advantage)
- A flexible, highly motivated, proactive and 'can do' working style
- Thorough understanding of OH&S requirements
