Norton Gold Fields, an approved EEO employer, is seeking an experienced Underground Truck Operator for out Bullant mine. Key Duties / Tasks for this Position:
- Conduct pre starts on equipment prior to operation.
- Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with Underground Shift Supervisor and cross shift operator.
- Understanding of underground mining development, production and services operations.
- Operation of light vehicles in a mining type environment.
- Safe, efficient and productive operation of underground equipment
- Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with cross shift operator.
- Transport ore and mullock to the designated areas as directed by your Supervisor each shift.
- Operate the truck to Best Practice to minimise damage on equipment, tyres gearboxes and the vehicle in general.
- Provide assistance to other mining operators as and when required.
- Identify and alert Supervisor immediately to any potential hazards.
- Conclude shift with a hose down and refuelling of vehicle / machine.
- Clear concise communication (including appropriate hand signals).
- Operating underground in confined environment.
- Decline activities when access is restricted, main haulage route.
- Continually changing activities and breakdown repairs.
- Provide assistance to other mining operators as and when required.
The ideal applicant will have:
- Current unrestricted “C” Class WA Manual Drivers Licence
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of underground trucks
- Current Western Australian DGSC
- Satisfactory GSDU / NPC clearance
