About the role
Database Geologist
Measured Group is currently looking for a Database Geologist to work with the team on a new collaboration project.The person will become part of an ambitious international team whose purpose will include the development of a web-based geological data transferring services. This person must have sound experience with the management of large amounts of geological data, proven experience in software development and be proficient in both English and French with additional language skills viewed favourably.
As a new member of the team, your duties will include:
- Responsibility for establishing, maintaining, managing and updating geological database systems
- Developing web-based geological data transfer systems
- Responsibility for providing field based geologists with the data tools and interfaces necessary for proper acquisition of field geology data including the import/export of logging data, transfer of geophysical data and database validation.

Skills and experience
The successful candidate will possess as a minimum the following skills and experience:
- Geology/Geoscience Degree
- High level computer literacy in MS Office products, especially Excel and VBA
- Minimum of 12 months Geological Database experience
- Demonstrated skills and experience in SQL, VB, and C# scripting
- Exposure to and basic working knowledge of database related components of modelling software such as Minescape, Vulcan, Leapfrog, Draftsight, SmartMan and Task Manager
- Demonstrated experience in database creation, administration and validation
- Web-based application development
- Knowledge of geological data collection
- Proficiency in English and French
