We are seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Merchandise Assistant to join our buying team at Head Office on a 6 month contract for an immediate start. We encourage passionate individuals to apply, who are looking to build and a develop career within a fast paced retail industry.
About the role
This role is instrumental in maintaining the product database and working closely with the Buyer to support them to ensure data update processes and procedures are being followed. The products you will be working with include: Fragrances, Skincare, Handbags and Sunglasses
Located in our Melbourne head office and reporting into the Buyer, your duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Communication of price changes to the warehouse and stores
- Work closely with the Buying Team to support them in ensuring data update processes and procedures are being followed
- Maintain and update detailed mailing list of suppliers and contacts
- Organise supplier meetings and participate when required
- Ensure professional verbal and written communication with suppliers in regards to buying related matters as requested by the Buyer
- Prepare and distribute monthly reports
- Resolution of queries pertaining to warehouse deliveries, including special deliveries, customer orders and invoice discrepancy investigations.
About you
You will have extensive administration experience and be savvy in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. You possess a sense of urgency which translates into effective time management and the ability to manage competing priorities. Your attention to detail is exceptional which assists with the prompt resolution of problems.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience:
- Previous administrative experience
- Knowledge of/experience in retail operations, exposure to international brands highly advantageous
- High level numeracy skills
- High level of data entry skills
- Advanced Excel skills and proven use of Pivot tables, Vlookups.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills
