Federal Agency. Communications Professional. Geelong/Melbourne Office. Initial 12 month contact.

Your new company
Working with a Federal Government agency with its National Headquarters in Geelong, we are currently looking to appoint an External Communications Officer for an initial 12month contract with a possible 6-12 month extension. This position will have the ability to split time between the Melbourne and Geelong office.

Your new role
Through an extensive review, a new role has been created to improve the communications of the Agency and its’ stakeholders. Situated in the Communications Branch, you will:

• Contribute to the development and production of communication materials
• Work in consultation with internal stakeholders to deliver quality results and work under tight deadlines
• Produce content for use across a variety of channels, including key major changes, communication products, managing risks and key talking points for senior executives
• Assist internal stakeholders prepare and publish content, quality-check and ensure its’ key messages are accessible and understandable to all external stakeholders
• Ensure all communication is in-line with style and brand guidelines

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in these roles, you will be able to demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated capacity to produce high quality content through varied platforms
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence to deliver significant outcomes while assisting a number of stakeholders
• Strong skills with MS Office Suite and designed publications
• A passion for social development
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
