We have an exciting new opportunity to join the New Horizons team as the Communications Coordinator; who will provide compelling content and comms support to the organisation.  Enjoy a flexible working environment and salary packaging benefits, while using your skills to enhance people's wellbeing.

In this role you'll work on and create a range of internal and external communications and help implement and deliver strategic communications plans. One day might be writing a newsletter, the next you could be arranging media interviews. A varied role, it would suit someone with an eye for detail and a flexible, positive attitude.  

This is a permanent, full time opportunity (Mon-Fri).  Based in North Ryde, you will report to the Communications Manager in our Marcomms Team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Create, edit and proof compelling content for a range of internal and external audiences (both print and online)
  • Manage and grow our social media channels
  • Support the marcomms teams on events and initiatives
  • Provide comms guidance, plans and support to other areas of the business
  • Support the Communications Manager and contributing to strategic comms plans
  • Work with our designers to create on-brand collateral and templates

What you need to have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write and edit for print, media and online
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in communications, media, public relations or marketing and/or; 
  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism or Public Relations
  • Good 'nose' for a story 
  • Skilled at building relationships and liaising with stakeholders of all levels and cultural backgrounds 
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator highly desirable)
