With a range of member services including business consulting, policy development, advocacy and education, the ARA promotes and protects over 7,500 independent and national retailers throughout Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Brand and Communications Manager, you will support the efficient delivery of digital campaigns across all communications platforms. This role will involve the creation and implementation of various marketing and communication activities and will be responsible for delivering targeted marketing communication activities across a range of channels ensuring the ARA brand is strongly represented within the Australian retail industry.

The position requires a highly skilled individual to assist with the effective marketing of ARA’s position on issues affecting the sector, and promote ARA services to all target audiences including members, potential members, media parties, stakeholders and ARA employees.

This is a 12 month full time contract role with a view to extend. 

Key responsibilities

  • Manage email marketing and internet campaigns.
  • Coordinate member’s communication including e-newsletters, special announcements, seminars and webinars.
  • Assist in developing member engagement marketing activities, coordinating with stakeholders across the association to ensure its effectiveness.
  • Develop and disseminate membership offers to potential members via eDMs, social and other communication platforms.
  • Prepare and coordinate regular surveys of members on an array of issues impacting the sector.
  • Copywriting for various digital marketing campaign initiatives.
  • Provide digital marketing advice and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Produce and create marketing collateral including brochures, fliers, advertisements and signage and working closely with the Brand and Communications Manager to ensure quality published material.
  • Project management of current website with external stakeholders.
  • Manage digital marketing programs such as Google AdWords and search engine optimisation.
  • To develop and foster positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient, effective delivery of campaigns in a timely and brand-consistent manner.
  • Manage, monitor and respond to social media feeds.
  • Various marketing administration duties.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, media, or a related discipline, and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a focused marketing and communications role.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing communications campaigns and/or community engagement programs.
  • Strong marketing, communications, and project management skills.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including senior executives.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, responsive and flexible in an environment with time pressures and multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite CC and Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Knowledge of, and experience using Wordpress, Hubspot, SurveyMonkey
  • Visual design capabilities (desirable).
  • Skills in photography and video production (desirable).
