Purpose of the role

Our national Client & Market Growth (CMG) team at MinterEllison is a high performing and critical component of the firm and essential to the firm's success.  The team supports the partnership by providing the full spectrum of business development and marketing services to ensure the firm develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients.

The Role

You will consult and work closely with key stakeholders and the national Client & Market Growth team to deliver client growth within our middle markets client segment. Key elements of your role will include:

  • Managing key client accounts within our 'middle markets' client segments
  • Supporting Partners in assessing sales opportunities and formulating responses to clients, including leveraging support from our Major Pursuits and Tenders team as appropriate
  • Supporting the growth of business development skills across legal practitioners in the business unit through formal and informal coaching and guiding of interactions with clients and networks
  • Designing and executing campaigns to further develop MinterEllison's market positioning
  • Measuring, reporting and assessing the effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives including identifying and incorporating continuous improvement into future activities
  • Assisting with qualifying opportunities and having a good overview of the sales pipeline in our 'middle markets' segment
  • Working with the Market Lead, National Markets to implement the firmwide strategy to support growth within our 'middle markets' client segment
  • Fostering relationships both with key internal and external clients and the broader CMG group that are collaborative, innovative and value adding.

Our ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Broad ranging sales, marketing and business development experience, ideally gained in a professional services environment
  • Proven experience in driving client growth opportunities
  • Demonstrable sales support and coaching capability
  • Experience with developing and executing business plans and campaigns
  • Ability to liaise with multiple senior stakeholders and the ability to influence outcomes
  • Strong communication, project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in B2B BD / marketing role with a focus on product and / or segment management, campaign development, communications and project management
  • Commercial focus with strong analytical, planning and project management skills
  • Sound financial acumen and excellent communication skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications or business or a related discipline
