We are seeking an APS 6 Communications specialist ready to hit the ground running in this varied role
Your new company
A centrally located federal government department. This is a 12 month contract opportunity to commence immediately. You will join a high performing Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Team.
Your new role
As the Communications Officer, you will largely assist in implementing a communications and stakeholder engagement strategy. Your tasks will involve engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, researching and developing advice, and preparing briefings, presentations and correspondence. You will also be required to undertake media monitoring along with developing collateral and media materials.
In particular, this area needs someone to assist with the drafting and editing of technical content. You will be someone who can work with large technical documents, translating them into everyday language that everyone can understand. Hence, we are seeking someone with a keen eye for detail and advanced proofreading, copywriting, editing skills.
What you'll need to succeed
You will also hold the ability to work with a high level of independence. You will be someone who can prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and adapt to changing demands, along with holding experience in liaising with a range of stakeholders. Previous public sector experience within a Communications/Stakeholder Engagement role will see you hit the ground running in this opportunity.
Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in public affairs, corporate communications, or stakeholder engagement are highly desirable. Previous experience within the APS is advantageous.
