Our client is a successful, well established Manufacturing organisation which services some of the most prominent industries around including the aviation, hospitals, construction, trucking, etc.
An opportunity has arisen for a Trade Qualified CNC Machinist to join their team of experts.
Your day-to-day activities and responsibilities will look like this:
- Daily machine allocation could be CNC, Lathe, or CNC Mill
- Based on drawing and blank provided, determine how the parts should be manufactured
- Create the program and set up the machine
- Select and set the right tools, cutters and inserts
- Operate the machine to process the parts
- Confirm the parts meet the drawing
- Make adjustments as required
- Cleaning and maintenance of machines
- Contribute to process and safety improvement projects
In order to be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following:
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification
- Setup and program CNC Mill - Milling
- Setup and program CNC Lathe - Turning
- Grinding skills
- G-code programming
- Read, understand and interpret engineering drawings
- Process planning and selection of machine tools
- Use measuring tools
- Experience with Fanuc controls an advantage
- Experience with Mastercam CAD/CAM software an advantage
General
- Computer literate
- Strong numerical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- Good knowledge of OH&S
- Enthusiastic and Self-motivated
- Can work unsupervised and collaboratively
- Ability to work across different sections in the factory applying different skills and methods of working.
On offer is an attractive starting rate of ($33. 24 (Day) -$38.23 (Arvo) + Super per hour. This is a full time position which will commence as a Temp for the first 3 months. Candidates are expected to be willing to work between Day and/or Afternoon. If successful, you will love working for this company.
