Hobbiton™ Movie Set Tours is a successful tourism operation just out of Matamata that welcomes thousands of New Zealand and overseas visitors to its operation each year. We are seeking to employ Full time Permanent, Part Time Permanent or Fixed Term Guides to join our fabulous team.
The Role
You will be responsible for escorting your group of up to 41 guests around the Hobbiton Movie Set, sharing stories of how the set was built, what it was like during filming and which scenes took place where. Then help at the bar offering each of your visitors a beverage. Guides need to be confident directing and speaking in front of large groups of people from different nationalities, have a bright and bubbly personality and have good knowledge of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films.
These positions operate on a 6 week rolling roster 4 or 5 days on and 2 days off. As such, you need to be flexible, weekend work is involved too. You will need to get yourself to and from the site which is located just out of Matamata.
In addition to being a Guide you may also assist in the Maintenance area with grass cutting, general Hobbit Hole cleaning and maintenance and also helping out in other areas of the business as required.

If you are able to speak fluent Chinese this would be a great opportunity, as we are also currently seeking International Tour Guides to assist with our Chinese tour groups.
