As Maintenance Planner at Rocket Lab you will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of maintenance and upgrade project activities for the Rocket Lab Test facilities.

These facilities include:
  • The Auckland Test Cell for the Rutherford and Curie testing
  • The Stack Test Site for the stage stack testing (1hr drive from Auckland)
These test sites are critical to the propulsion operations within the company. On a daily basis rocket engines, subcomponents and full Electron stages are put through their tests by a highly skilled team.

The facilities and the facility team needs to ensure efficient and reliable operation of the test facility so that the Rocket components can be put through their paces before launch to space.

Key areas of responsibility for the Maintenance Planner
  • Ownership of the CMMS System – you will be assisting with the implementation of the CMMS system and involved in staff training and upgrades to the system
  • Preventative Maintenance – you will take responsibility for the preventative maintenance schedule and review and make recommendations to the maintenance strategy
  • Corrective Maintenance – You will take responsibility for ensuring that all corrective maintenance is scheduled efficiently, and all parts and materials are available when required
  • Planning & Scheduling Projects – You will work closely with the Propulsion team to prioritise and plan project work and facility upgrades
Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar position
  • Previous experience implementing a new CMSS systems
  • The ability to take the initiative & capable of working unguided and without supervision
  • Capable of remaining calm when under pressure
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of working with Gantt charts, planning software and standard Microsoft office applications.Desirable Skills
  • Aeronautical experience or a trade background
