About the role

Who are we looking for?

Required skills and experience

·         At least 10 years' software development experience

·         A software-focused tertiary qualification

·         Full stack experience with strong knowledge of C#, .NET framework, MVC, SQL, REST, Design Patterns, Cloud, JavaScript & JS front-end frameworks, API's

·         Primarily using ASP.Net, MVC5, Visual Studio 2017, .net Core, angular

·         Azure environment and tools

·         Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL

·         Front-end web application development (HTML5, CSS, JS front-end frameworks)

·         Ability to analyse complex business requirements and define and document appropriate solutions in a language readily understood by both the business and technical community.

·         A strong background in database modeling

General Position Outline

To develop Urgent Couriers IT projects in order to stay at the forefront of technology. Below is a sample of the important work that needs to be developed.

Our live projects

·         Increased automation of dispatch system – i.e. automated assignment of jobs to couriers.

·         Upgrade all UI from access to web based UI

·         Support all current systems including our in-house dispatch system, website, reporting services and mobile application

·         Warehouse management software API interface

·         Consumer facing app

·         Driver app

·         Customer services system upgrade

Software Development, Planning and Testing

·         Develop, maintain and enhance software for all Urgent Couriers systems

·         Liaise with IT Manager to ensure software upgrades are completed in a timely manner

·         Maintain industry best practice with regards to software testing,  implementation and rollout

·         Adhere to industry best practice around source code repository use

·         Take part in project planning with end users to provide technical and strategic input.

DevOps

·         Provide ongoing technical support to internal users

·         Collate bugs from employees into specs for repair

·         Implement modifications and enhancements to systems as required

General

·         Operational tasks on a day to day basis as required

·         Tasks required by management from time to time

·         Work with Management to develop and implement a long term IT strategy

·         Adaptability to work on a range of projects both large and small

·         Providing an infrastructure for internal documentation and procedures

·         Good problem solver and excellent communicator both in a technical and non-technical terms
