Company Profile
Our client is a medium to large sized organisation with branches in Auckland and Hamilton specialising in the provision of business telecommunications and data cabling services.
Solid business growth and several new contract wins means they are now looking to hire several new senior and junior technicians to work on commercial construction and building refurbishment projects.
Role Profile
Your key responsibility will be to ensure the site installation work is completed on time, as specified and within budget, including but not limited to, planning of resource requirements, and coordinating the delivery of on-site materials daily.
We’re looking for a well organised Cabler who is a natural self-starter.
You will need to demonstrate initiative and proactivity and your knowledge of the industry will mean you can anticipate potential problems before they occur.
Because you will be in a pivotal delivery role, it is essential that you are a clear and concise communicator who will update your manager in a timely manner while also being a positive motivator and effective trainer for those in your team.
You will also need to demonstrate a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities Include
• Site level liaison with stakeholders, clients, other trades and consultants
• Maintain accurate records of job work hours and provide other administrative functions
• Plan and coordinate on-site resources and materials
• Assisting installation, deployment and testing as directed.
• Assisting the receipting, securing and signing off of materials
• Strict adherence to health and safety procedures
• Work involves fibre
Experience and Skills Required
• Ideally you will have 2-3 years’ experience installing cabling
• The ability to read and understand technical documents, specifications, schedules and drawings.
• Cat 6 and Cat 6a qualification would be ideal. But not essential
• Sound computer literacy is essential including a good command of MS Word and Excel programmes.
• Site Safe Certificate is essential
• Confined spaces and first aid certification will be beneficial
To be eligible for this position you must currently reside in NZ and have a legal right to work permanently in this country.
