Who are you?

You’re an enthusiastic, positive person with a hunger to learn and grow. You’re likely either an experienced Executive Assistant looking for a new challenge, although you could be a project coordinator looking to expand, or a ‘jack of all trades’ looking to make a difference in a small team. You will thrive in this role if you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, taking ownership, providing an excellent customer experience, all while supporting your team.

About us:

The Financial Services Council of New Zealand Incorporated (FSC) is a non-profit member-based organisation based in a shared-office space in Auckland CBD. Companies represented in the FSC include the major insurers in life, disability, income, and trauma insurance, and some fund managers and KiwiSaver providers. Law firms, audit firms, and other providers to the financial services sector are represented among the associate members. 

We are a small effective organisation. Punching above our weight, we are a busy team where we all juggle a multitude of tasks. We are looking for an Executive Assistant who enjoys being busy, wants to make a difference and brings a positive can-do attitude to our small, dynamic, team. 

Job purpose:

The Executive Assistant will support will support FSC members and the FSC team with a variety of activities, being responsible for meeting logistics, governance support, and office administration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support FSC Member Committees (scheduling meetings, preparing agenda, taking minutes)
  • Arrange logistics for all FSC Member meetings and events (organising venues, partnering with suppliers)
  • Support the FSC Board (preparing Board packs , taking minutes)
  • Coordinate administration (office, filing, executive support)
  • Build a sustainable FSC (processes, systems, general support)

Skills/Capabilities:

  • The highest level of personal and professional integrity – a person of your word
  • Strong MS Office skills with curiosity to learn new systems and software
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a confident, respectful and effective communication style
  • First class written communication ability
  • A positive outlook with a can-do attitude, committed to delivering on time

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Previous experience in an executive assistant, project coordinator or administration role
  • Financial services experience, particularly in investment or insurance a plus

This is a permanent role and, for the right person, we are open to full-time, part-time or flexible hours.
