CLM is seeking a Facility Manager who has experience in managing recreation centres that include both aquatic and dry recreation activities to manage the Rotorua Aquatic Centre. 

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who is excited about creating a positive user experience for every person who uses, or has contact with the facility.  Our ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about recreational activities and programmes, and is driven to see these programmes grow and be delivered in an exceptional way.  We are looking for a community minded individual, yet someone who has business operations experience with budgets, planning and a history of managing a team of staff.  Due to the nature of the facility, we would like someone with experience in aquatics/lifeguarding, water treatment and H&S for facilities of this nature.      

The key duties and responsibilities expected of the Facility Manager include but are not limited to:

  • Key decision making for the facility, reporting to CEO / General Managers of CLM;
  • Leadership – providing direction and guidance to team members;
  • Financial analysis and preparation - understanding revenue and expenses, budgets vs actuals, dashboards;
  • Customer service – Supporting and encouraging outstanding customer service by all staff;
  • Marketing: - Implementing marketing strategies which support the facilities programmes and reaches the community;
  • Business development & growth;
  • Human resources – management of staff, adhering to the CLM Policies and Procedures;
  • Operational management – understanding of plant and equipment;
  • Administration tasks;
  • Relationship building with user groups, public and community groups in the area.

If you have strong leadership skills, are a team player, love a challenge and are motivated to succeed then this is the position for you.  The position is full time and may involve weekend work to ensure the goals and objectives for the facility are being met.   

Facility Management experience and tertiary qualifications would be beneficial.  A positive focus and an attitude that will drive growth and customer satisfaction are an absolute must.
