Come and join our child protection team. We are open to applications from new social work graduates and experienced practitioners.
We are looking for you to come and help us deliver better outcomes for tamariki and rangatahi. As part of our team you will spend your day meeting with children and young people, listening to what they have to say, completing assessments, creating plans, participating in hui-a-whānau, family group conferences and partnering with other agencies, community groups and iwi to improve lives.

The skills and attributes we look for include:
- listening skills – hear what the child or young person has to say
- proven ability to quickly build rapport with tamariki and rangatahi
- critical thinking – you know how to gather information and make good evidence based decisions
- great written and verbal communication skills (you will need to write court reports)
- a commitment to bi-cultural practice and a culturally responsive approach (a good understanding of Tikanga Maori is essential)
- resilient, motivated and caring nature
- flexibility to work an afterhours duty roster as required
- good computer navigation and typing skills
- full clean valid driver's licence
- New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Resident status at the time of application.
