As a Change Facilitator in our Business Transformation team, you'll work across the organisation to support the vision of making New Plymouth District Council a leader in contemporary local government.

You'll take a pivotal role in driving the adoption of change that will transform and improve the way we work, communicate, deliver services, provide information and engage with our customers and stakeholders. You'll have the ability to grasp new business processes easily, identify and address issues to minimize impacts on projects and business users.

Being a facilitator and leading change implementation will be second nature to you. You'll also have a well-developed political intelligence, be savvy and have the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple and persuasive manner.

Responsibilities for this role include the following:

  • Providing support to Project Managers and Business Leaders to help transition change in the business
  • Managing the impacts and outcomes of change across people, process and technology to enhance business outcomes
  • Driving and delivering change initiatives and implementing change strategies and plans
  • Supporting communication efforts within projects and implement all change communications
  • Developing and deploying initiatives and tools that support organization-wide change readiness and commitment
  • Facilitating change activities and impact workshops
  • Identifying and quantifying change benefits

To be successful in the role you will ideally need at least three to five years' experience in Change Management or Project Management with change facilitation as a core component. You will be comfortable working within an agile environment with constantly moving goal posts, and the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across a wide range of teams and levels.

Ideally, you'll be a registered Change Practitioner, or hold a qualification in Change Management or the PMI and have a good understanding of local government or a similar environment.
