Hastings Technology Metals is an ASX listed, exploration and development company that is currently concentrating its efforts on two rare earth projects in W.A. Working closely with the Environment and Communities Manager, the role of Permits and Approval Adviser supports the approvals and regulatory compliance objectives and activities for our Yangibana Rare Earth project.
Responsibilities for the role include:
Office based
· Provide support to the approvals and regulatory compliance team, including preparation of secondary approval and permit applications.
· Gather, collate and supply information for submission of approvals and permits.
· Maintain register of approval conditions and actions upon receipt of regulatory approvals.
· Coordinate and communicate with consultants and colleagues to ensure all conditions of approvals, licences and permits are completed as per requirements.
· Maintain a community engagement register.
· Provide support in the development of environmental procedures, inductions, forms and registers.
· Provide support to implement the HSEC management system including communications, data collection, records, inspections and audits, and monitoring of compliance against licence conditions.
Site based
· Collect air quality (dust), surface water and groundwater samples for background data collection
· Collect environmental monitoring data (groundwater and surface water, mosquito monitoring, air quality data, weed monitoring) during construction and operations
· Oversee topsoil delineation, harvesting and storage procedures during initial stages of land clearing activities
· Conduct environmental inspections and audits of early works construction activities
· Provide environmental support and advice to construction contractors to ensure a high level of environmental performance and build a culture of environmental responsibility
· Coordination and support for heritage monitors and hosting site visits/regional meetings with the Traditional Owners
Job Requirements:
To be successful in this role you will need:
· Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, or similar.
· Previous experience working in remote areas
· Experience with preparing secondary approvals documentation
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
