We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Manager- Facilities to support our refrigeration, air conditioning, HVAC systems and upgrade projects nationally.

Based in Parramatta, and reporting to the General Manager, in this role you will be responsible for the selection & evaluation of suitable, WHS compliant equipment for our QSR customers, and for the effective coordination of each state's external maintenance contractors. It’s great if you have restaurant equipment experience, but it’s not a prerequisite for this position. More important will be your solid mechanical experience, excellent knowledge of safety and quality, great communication and stakeholder management skills, and your commercial awareness.

To be a successful member of our H&K team you will not only need to demonstrate the appropriate trade qualifications and have a healthy sense of humour, you will:

  • Be highly motivated by the practical hands on aspect of industry (you like to understand how things work!)
  • Generally work at a brisk pace and respond well to demands on your time
  • Communicate effectively, and explain things in easily understood language regardless of the audience
  • Analyse data easily, and efficiently base your decisions on numerical information
  • Take on leadership roles comfortably, but you’re OK allowing others to lead when necessary
  • Be somewhat reserved, yet capable of presenting your point of view and ideas to others
  • Maintain effective time management skills when making decisions
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude but on occasions you might express some frustration in order to get things done
  • Know when it’s appropriate to back off and accommodate the needs of others or when you should to stand your ground
  • Appreciate the need for structure so that expectations are understood
  • Tend to make logical, objective, fact based, unemotional decisions
