Detail information about job Reliability and Performance Engineer. Terms and conditions vacancy

V/Line, Victoria's largest regional passenger transport operator, has a proud history of serving its communities and customers through rail and coach services. As part of a constantly evolving industry, V/Line is responsible for over 80 train stations and maintenance of approximately 4,200 kilometres of rail track across Victoria. The organisation is committed to maintaining a high focus on safety and delivering excellent customer service, continually striving to improve the overall customer experience.

We are currently seeking two Reliability and Performance Engineers. They play a key role in providing analysis and support to the Asset Planning and Performance department through identifying and implementing strategies for improving asset reliability and maintenance execution.

Reporting to the Manager – Infrastructure Asset Planning and Analysis, you will be responsible for analysing equipment failures to identify causes using RCA/FRACAS/FMECA techniques, maintaining and developing predictive maintenance activities, reliability growth plans and performance reporting systems.

In addition, you will work closely with the maintenance and engineering teams to assist them with improving the current maintenance regime, ensure root cause of failure information is accurately recorded and managed systematically, solve immediate issues and produce written reports of advice with reliability orientated solutions in a complex and dynamic operational environment.

The successful candidate must have tertiary qualification in either Engineering or Business (or equivalent) with sound experience in an Asset Reliability Engineering role. You will have a proven ability to apply reliability-centred processes such as RCA, FRACAS and FMECA as well condition monitoring data collection experience.  An asset management qualification would be advantageous but not essential.

You will have demonstrable technical and report writing skills, strong verbal and interpersonal communication, and the ability to manage diverse points of view in the workplace. Your excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to be flexible and engage with various stakeholders will see you succeed in this role.

The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience. The selection process may include aptitude assessments, a behavioural event interview and medical check in line with the National Standard for Health Assessment for Rail Safety Workers.  Please note that all candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application but unsuccessful candidates will not be provided with specific feedback.
