About the role:
On the back of growing opportunities within the Melbourne water and gas utilities sector, Comdain is looking for a Senior Estimator / Bid Lead with a focus of the bidding and tendering of water and gas utility infrastructure projects. Comdain continues to grow its engineering team as it secures and delivers projects across Victoria. We’re looking for ways to add value to our clients and further grow our self-perform capability.

The Senior Estimator / Bid Lead will support ongoing profitable growth by winning new programs and projects and supporting the profitable delivery of projects won. This includes delivering optimal tender proposals, and driving innovation into all technical solutions.  The Senior Estimator will be hands-on in their approach to develop winning bid strategies, bid preparation, bid management, estimating and ongoing design management support through to securing and handing over projects to the delivery team.

You will also collaborate alongside our Project Managers in managing the design process through project delivery.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity available immediately that supports both the employee’s career growth, and Comdain’s rising portfolio of projects. This position is based in our corporate head office in Epping, Victoria.
  
What we are looking for:
As the successful candidate, you will have 10+ years post-graduate experience as an Engineer and/or Project Manager incl.;

• 8+ years exp. in the management of projects and/or bids for water and gas infrastructure projects; and
• 8+ year’s exp. in Design Management;
• Experience in the bidding water/waste water, sewage and/or gas projects across both networks and facilities infrastructure;
• Project delivery experience will be favourable;
• Strong communication skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships with all stakeholders;
• Ability to lead and manage teams;
• Self-starter, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly;
• Eager to take on new challenges; and
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

The above experience will complement the following;

• Bachelor of Civil, Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering;
• Preference for post graduate studies in Project Management and/or Business Management;
• Construction industry induction care (i.e. white card)
