About the business

Yellow Brick Road is an ASX-listed Australian financial services company with a growing network of branches across Australia. Founded by Executive Chairman Mark Bouris, it is a challenger brand to the big 4 banks and has a strong entrepreneurial culture.

We provide affordable lending and wealth management to all Australians, through our franchise branches. We have a panel of over 50 lenders, allowing our branches to write home loans; as well as personal, vehicle, small business and commercial loans.

On the wealth side, we are a licensed provider of financial advice covering insurance, superannuation, savings and investment strategies including managed funds and SMSF borrowing.

About the role

As the face of YBR to the franchise business owners, the State Manager is responsible for;

  • delivering individualised branch initiatives
  • managing all actions from compliance & audit results
  • developing and offering solutions to any branch network issues
  • developing a culture of sharing both within the YBR group & also the YBR network.

To do this well you will have a consultative 'hands-on' approach and an ability to adapt to a variety of situations; where you may identify, establish and develop various strategies & tactics to fulfil individual business plans of each branch.

This role is pivotal in delivering the future direction of the business in Queensland and South Australia. You will have overarching responsibility for helping our franchisees grow their businesses; expanding their revenue from both lending and wealth whilst providing day-to-day coaching and support.

As well as assisting our network to develop and execute on business plans, inclusive of a robust marketing plan and activity; help identify cross-sell opportunities and ensuring that the compliance framework is adhered to.

Skills and experience

You will have the ability to drive a performance culture both internally and through a community of franchised business owners.

Having a passion for business coaching you will have demonstrated through previous results your ability to set the direction of a business and manage both staff and stakeholders to deliver the desired outcomes.

The preferred candidate would have the following technical skills:

  • A working understanding of the 3rd Party lending market and current compliance regime
  • Experience in business planning, implementation & monitoring
  • Coaching and presentation skills
  • Experience working with offices in regional locations
  • Good knowledge of the lending and wealth product frameworks
  • Minimum two years' experience in similar role
  • Experience working with franchisees within the finance sector (preferred)
  • Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking (preferred)
  • Degree qualified (preferred)
