SCU is a people focused provider of financial services with the mission of making our customers 'members for life'.  We pride ourselves on our teamwork, professionalism, respect and aspirations to be the best that we can possibly be all for the benefit of providing an exceptional member experience.  This is our brand and we encourage all our employees to live by this brand, both whilst at work and also in their personal lives as well.

This is a customer service and sales focused role within a branch environment, where our Rockdale team is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can provide exceptional service to our members and contribute to the growth and development of SCU in the local community.

This opportunity provides exposure to a variety of daily tasks, with a primary focus on: promoting our products and services to members and prospective members whilst cashiering and processing of member transactions, assisting with general enquiries, handling loan and insurance enquiries through to the completed status, plus other member administration duties.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A positive "can do" attitude
  • Customer Service experience in retail or hospitality
  • A commitment to learning and ongoing development
  • Experience in handling cash
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • An understanding of how to build relationships and relationship selling combined with a desire to achieve targets in this area
  • Having team player qualities and a strong commitment to making a positive contribution - to the branch team and SCU

A sound understanding of insurance and lending processes would be beneficial. Financial institution experience coupled with ASIC PS146 Tier 2 Accreditation is preferable, though not essential as training will be provided to the right applicant.

As part of your potential career path progression at SCU, this opportunity provides for ongoing learning and development opportunities and the skills and attributes of a successful Member Support Officer could translate to other areas of our business (e.g. loans) or potentially towards a more senior position within the branch network (e.g. Branch Manager).

Please forward your application and resume to:

Human Resources Coordinator
SCU
PO Box 444
BLACKTOWN NSW 2148

Please note: Only short listed applicants will be contacted for potential progression to the interview stage of the recruitment and selection process.
