Rare opportunity available in our successful and well-established family owned businesses to join a friendly and busy accounts team.

Reporting directly to the Accountant, you will be responsible for the administration and processing of the weekly payroll to ensure all data is accurate and any changes are actioned.  In your role of Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Complete weekly payroll cycle for up to 60 employees, requiring adherence with Award conditions and EBA for various companies in a Group
  • Management of new starters, leave entitlements, superannuation, PAYG as well as termination and redundancy calculations
  • Utilise knowledge of relevant legislation, awards and EBA's to ensure all legal requirements are met
  • Resolve any payroll queries from employees or business units
  • Liaise with Child Support Agency and implement any requests or changes

Your role will be challenging and in addition to your payroll duties you will undertake a variety of responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Accounts Receivable for Energy Air's Domestic Installation and Service Department
  • Debt recovery
  • High volume data entry of sales invoices
  • Banking & Reconciliations
  • Asset Management
  • Email/phone queries
  • Ad hoc payroll and accounts administration duties

To succeed in this role, we anticipate you will be able to demonstrate:

  • 5+ years' payroll experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MYOB and Excel
  • Experience of working in a busy, high volume environment
  • Knowledge of MYOB EXO would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical skills, confidentiality along with superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to see the bigger picture
  • Initiative, the ability to self-manage and work with those around you
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Organised and able to perform duties within specified time frames with exceptional attention to detail
  • Previous experience in the building industry would be an advantage
  • Above all, your personality, work ethic and initiative will contribute to the company's success
