  • RDO every month + long service leave after 5 years

Place activation creates a sense of place, encourages social connections, improves safety and brings life to the streets. It is expressed in diverse ways through art, food, play, performance and renewal activities. Place activation projects encourage the building of new community connections and create the story of a place.

About the role:

With growth and change occurring in the local area, Council’s Place Activation Strategy aims to enhance the resident and visitor experience, boost business success and enrich the quality of life for people in Maitland. Guided by the Strategy, you will help create an image of Maitland as being a vibrant city. You will create contemporary and relevant content for programs and initiatives that meet the city’s evolving economic and community needs to be delivered at key sites across the city. This will require collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the successful delivery of initiatives on time and within budget. Furthermore, you will identify and apply for any relevant grant, sponsorship or funding opportunities to improve the Strategy’s outcomes. 

About you:

With a tertiary qualification in arts, social sciences or events under your belt (or substantial experience in place activation), you will have demonstrated experience developing and delivering place activation initiatives. You will also need to have experience in project management and the ability to operate within defined budgets and timeframes to meet operational and financial targets. To succeed in the role, you must be able to think strategically, secure sponsorships/grant funding, produce and present creative concepts for initiatives to management and other stakeholders and exhibit practical ability and operational understanding to deliver these initiatives.

Benefits:

This is a permanent full time role with a salary range of $87,836 up to $97,498 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 9.5% p.a. super.
