About the role:

We are looking for Support Workers to work across our eight residential houses in the Bayside and South-Eastern Suburbs on a casual basis. You will support residents using the Active Support model from all aspects of running their home to their involvement in a range of community activities to maximise residents' fullest potential and overall daily life satisfaction. 

 

Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with personal care work, administering medication and offering support with domestic duties such as assisting with meal preparation and maintaining a clean household. 

 

About you:

Being available to work flexible hours is essential as the role involves shift work including morning, afternoon, weekend and sleepover shifts to cover for permanent staff as per the shift roster at each residential house. 

 

You will also have experience in providing residential support services to people with a disability with the following qualities:

 

  • Experience and commitment to working with people who have a disability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
  • A dynamic and flexible approach to tasks with a positive can-do attitude
  • The ability to work with limited supervision both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive approach and solid problem solving skills
  • The ability to maintain appropriate client records
  • An understanding of the legislative framework governing the Disability Services industry
  • A Certificate IV in Disability Services or equivalent in depth experience in human services working within the disability sector
  • A current First Aid Certificate, Driver's Licence (or willingness to obtain).
