The Western Sydney Family Referral Service (WSFRS) is unique among the RANSW programs. Funded by the NSW Department of Health, the WSFRS is part of the Keep Them Safe initiative designed to support children, young people and their families linking them to support services across 7 local council areas in western Sydney.

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an experienced Team Leader to join the growing service based at Rouse Hill and Mount Druitt.

About the role:

To be successful in this role, you will have well developed clinical supervisory skills, experience in the role of a Caseworker in a referral capacity (or a similar role) as well as flexibility, initiative, coordination and organisational skills. Some of your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • To ensure quality services through support, supervision and leadership;
  • Facilitating team functioning and performance;
  • Program and cross-centre responsibilities as part of the local leadership group;
  • Managing the organisational interface with clients and external customers;
  • Provide effective case consultation and clinical supervision including critical incident de-briefs;
  • Maintain your own client case load as per Centre requirements;
  • Provide triage of complex cases when escalated;
  • Prepare reports and analysis as required;
  • Work closely with the Centre manager to develop and improve staff practice;
  • Ensure the WSFRS remains relevant and well connected with other services within and outside the organisation;
  • Ensure safe work practices, monitor and report on all associated risks.

About the successful candidate

This is a fixed term, full time contract until June 2019 with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate will have:

Essentials

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in the human services area (e.g. social work, psychology), or other relevant qualifications;
  • Qualifications or demonstrated competencies in supervision and case management, or couple and family therapy, family dispute resolution, mediation, counselling, group work, workplace training, or psychotherapy.
  • Five years' full time experience in child protection, case management or a related field, or 2500 hours of supervised clinical practice;
  • Demonstrated skills, experience and training as a clinical supervisor, giving and receiving live supervision;
  • Demonstrated competence and understanding of working within a trauma-informed framework;
  • Demonstrated competency in use of technology (including Microsoft office programs);
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering quality customer service to internal and external customers;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Current Driver's license;

Desirables

  • Qualifications or demonstrated competencies in working with families and children
  • Experience in delivering training to professional groups
