Young Academics is seeking an enthusiastic, professionally driven Educator with a Diploma qualification. Placement is at our Toongabbie Centre.
About the role
This Educator role will be supporting our team in many ways, including assisting the Centre Manager and 2IC with the assimilation of enrolled families and new children.
Bringing your passion for working with children, you will be pivotal to our success, our team-based culture and achieving our standard of excellence.
You will work with a team of dedicated educators and staff, creating a stimulating, positive and inclusive environment that reflects the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) whilst maintaining the elements of the National Quality Standards (NQS).
You, the successful candidate:
- Holds the appropriate Diploma qualification, or alternatively, a Cert III working towards a Diploma (as assessed and recognised by ACECQA) - essential
- Demonstrates very strong communication skills, both verbal and written. This is essential in order for you to effectively impart knowledge and education to the children at our centre and liaise with both staff and parents.
- Possesses a Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualification/s, or be willing to obtain one.
- Is able to demonstrate in excess of 2-3 years experience in an early childhood setting (excluding Trainee years) - or employer approved equivalent in this criteria - essential
- Must have a current Working with Children Check - essential
- Is confident in and willingly takes on responsibility of planning an educational curriculum.
- Must have competent computer skills.
- Demonstrates a passion for the industry, the profession, families and children
- Must be able to commit to full time hours inkeeping with our operational necessity
Key Responsibilities, not limited to
- Demonstrate excellence in the provision of education, programming, leadership and care standards to the children who are cared for at our Centre.
- Supervising, mentoring and supporting educators with programming and daily duties.
- Liaising and consulting with parents whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Record keeping and policy compliance.
- Ensure the safety & well being of all stakeholders (children, educators and families)
- Commitment to ongoing learning and self development, innovation and motivation
