About the role...
A fantastic opportunity exists to join the Agricultural Development team that supports the delivery of the RAS’s core charter. Working closely with the Agricultural Development team members, you will be responsible for delivering a growing year round education program for the RAS as well as working towards coordinating the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show (SRES) Schools and Out of School Hours (OOSH) Programs.
About you...
Reporting to the Manager, Agricultural Development, you will assist in the delivery of a range of services including, but not limited to:
- Coordinate an RAS agricultural educational program to engage and educate school teachers and students year round, including the development and delivery of content for incursions;
- Assist with the development of an interactive education program for the future permanent RAS education site;
- Provide administration support for the RAS educational program. This includes distributing information to the schools database, taking and processing excursion bookings, receiving school enquiries via phone and email and coordinating school excursions;
- Field all school and teacher enquiries regarding the SRES Schools and OOSH programs and assist with the ticket booking process and distribution of tickets;
- Research and present opportunities to develop new education initiatives and programs to the team and Agricultural Development Committee;
- Coordinate the SRES Schools and OOSH programs, including the logistics, contracting, payment and equipment/consumables required for school and OOSH sessions at the Show;

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) manages the Sydney Royal Easter Show, Sydney Royal competitions, the RAS Foundation, Australasian Animal Registry and the Sydney Showground. The RAS has a team of over 130 full-time staff – and an indispensable pool of casual staff - who work on the Easter Show, events at the Sydney Showground and other activities and events.
