Senior Application Analyst - Clerk Grade 7/8 - 203886 and 203887 Full time ongoing appointments - x 2 positions Location: Australian Technology Park - Eveleigh About the role An exciting opportunity to contribute to Australia’s largest and most comprehensive ICT environment that supports world class education. The Senior Application Analyst contributes to the development and maintenance of large, complex corporate systems that facilitate the achievement of the Department’s core business through the use of process and technology. Working with the role supervisor, the role contributes to planning, system documentation and reporting as required. You will: Be providing third level technical support, incident and problem resolution to minimise the impact of service outages. Diagnose, analyse and resolve application related incidents and escalate issues, as needed, for follow-through with internal teams and/or external service providers. Undertake pre and post-release activities to develop a base of knowledge for incorporating into future build and release cycles Be contributing technical knowledge and/or expertise to stages of the software development process. Be undertaking testing and gathering feedback from stakeholders to improve quality outputs and reduce operational risks. Be participating in implementation planning and will assist with implementation by providing systems support throughout the implementation period. What you will bring: Demonstrated experience in end to end application support skills in a large scale enterprise environment. Significant knowledge in data analysis, databases, superior spreadsheet skills, and monitor system logs. Demonstrated ability to analyse reported incidents and recommending resolution. Demonstrated technical skills and experience in an enterprise landscape supporting highly integrated large scale enterprise applications, including a suite of technologies such as Oracle, SQL, XML, Splunk. Sound working knowledge of IT service management principles and frameworks including ITIL, process tools, frameworks, and best practice methods. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
