About the role

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Inventory Analyst to manage and maintain our stock inventory at an optimum level according to the selling cycle. This includes liaising and placing orders with suppliers and freight forwarders as well as managing relationships with consignment agencies. The inventory Analyst is also responsible for managing logistics, system coordination and reporting. For example, setting up and maintaining all Macmillan and Buy-In titles in the UBD Bookmaster Distribution system.

Our ideal candidate is an analytical thinker and is able to recommend and implement strategies to reduce excess inventory including opportunities to move titles from stock to print on demand. The Inventory Analyst plays a key support function for Sales, Customer Support, Publishing, Finance, and Marketing by providing title, pricing, OP or ISBN information. Report preparation will be key to support business decisions, therefore advanced excel skills and attention to detail are crucial.

Skills and experience

  • Tertiary degree or qualification (Mandatory)
  • 5 years’ previous experience as Inventory Controller/Manager with large number of SKUs experience (Mandatory)
  • Advanced excel skills (Mandatory)
  • Previous use of an AS400 system, Bookmaster (Preferable)
  • Previous experience with IBM Cognos (Preferable).
  • Previous sales experience or sales aptitude (Preferable).
