Are you looking for your next Project Controls role with a leader in the Mining and Resources sector? Do you have experience on a brownfield operating site executing project control functions? This Brisbane based role will be creating and maintaining project controls across various multidiscipline projects associated with a large program of work on an industrial plant in QLD. Some mid-week site travel will be expected, likely every 2nd or 3rd week. We are searching for the right fit for an experienced Projects Team. Someone who can lead effectively through their behaviour and their results.

The focus of this role is to identify areas for improvement and support improvement processes. The incumbent will be highly experienced utilising data analysis, strategic action plans and project evaluation strategies. This may include complex technical analysis and evaluation of proposals, cost and schedule benefit analysis and feasibility studies.

The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining, practising and recommending improvements in cost control and contract administration. All project control reviews and data capturing will fall under this role remit and it will be expected that the incumbent facilitates and participates in cost and schedule audits. We expect this person to offer improvements in project change management as needed, to provide all relevant reporting, KPI Measurement, and manage the asset capitalisation activities with finance.

Role Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Manage 3 direct reports 
  • Provide a master report/dashboard for management review;
  • Provide comprehensive, accurate and complete cost reports and progress reports
  • Forecast costs and resourcing and manage cost control and portfolio management across multiple concurrent projects
  • Ensure contract processes are followed
  • Reviewing, processing and administration of contractor claims/invoices;
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure cost control integrity, 
  • Establish and manage project schedules with the scheduler/Planner, 
  • Assist in the procurement of services and goods;
  • Support the development of integrated project schedules;
  • Ensure that all project control activities follow established procedures in a consistent way;
  • Ensuring governance of the Project Management Framework across all project stages.
A high level of spreadsheet proficiency, cost control software knowledge and a project, commercial process knowledge would be desirable. A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Economics or a related discipline would advantageous though not essential.
