Role Details
Gold Fields Australia is currently seeking an Operator: Relief Jumbo to join their Mining department at Granny Smith Gold Mine. This role is offered on an 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on and 7 days off roster and is FIFO from Perth.
Reporting to the Supervisor: Underground, you will be responsible for carrying out development work and other mining tasks as directed by the Supervisor. This shall also ensure the shift operates in a safe and efficient manner complying with all the policies and procedures and meeting the set production targets.
Key responsibilities will include;
- Always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of GFA and ensures that the Vital Behaviours are adhered to at all times
- Achieving production targets by operating equipment to undertake drilling activities in a safe and efficient manner;
- Assisting with other areas of the operation such as Service crew, Long Hole Drill and Bogger operation offering hands on support, guidance and mentoring when required;
- Providing reliable and accurate operational and practical knowledge to minimise down time and potential loss of production;
- Utilising mobile equipment and tools with due consideration for safety and environmental issues;
- Working collaboratively with mining engineers, geologists and the survey team as necessary to ensure drilling is undertaken to plan;
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in operated equipment such as the drill cabin, throughout workshops and wherever works are carried out;
- Complete all administrative processing requirements associated with maintenance duties;
- Following Gold Fields Zero Harm policy by actively identifying and reporting hazards using the site's hazard reporting systems.
Key factors to your success include;
- Experience in underground hard rock techniques including level development and installation of ground support
- Proven knowledge of charging, firing, bogging and trucking of development headings
- Mechanical knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Current WA Dangerous Goods Card, Working at Heights Certificate
- A WA Underground Shift Supervisors' Certificate of Competency is desirable
- Valid WA "C" Driver's License
