A well-established, and reputable market leader operating in its field, due to continued growth, the team is looking to add a Merchandise Planner - Accessories to its existing trading team.

With their support office based in Northern Sydney suburbs, it is easily accessible from inner and outer CBD suburbs by car, with free on-site parking facilities. 

Job tasks and responsibilities

The key responsibility for the Merchandise Planner - Accessories role is to manage the open-to-buy budget for their department, analysing the trading activity across all categories on a regular basis, delivering department strategies in-line with business objectives, implementing promotional activity, as well as managing the training and development of one direct report. They are also accountable for meeting department financial budgets, including sales, gross profit, stock turn and sell-through.

Skills and experience

The successful applicant for the role of Merchandise Planner - Accessories will need to be able to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:

  • Relevant degree qualification in business-related subject, including Retail/Business Management or Finance
  • Experience working at an established Merchandise Planner level within a retailing business
  • Advanced-level experience using Excel and other IT-systems
  • Management experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Commercial awareness and a proven track-record in achieving department KPI's
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
