About the Company
My client, a Government Agency, is leading one of the largest transformation programms in Australia. They are looking for an experienced Communications Change Manage to lead strategic and tactical communication activities on specified project.
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for understanding the project goals and objectives and the impact of the change on both internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will be managing end to end communications for this project; from designing communication materials for presentation and distribution; to coaching the project teams and business divisions on the communications structure, content and integration.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, execute and support all internal communications activities across the program
- Act as a trusted advisor and provide expert advice and guidance on internal communications strategies, plans and issues support to the organisation, primarily at the executive level.
- Build strong relationships with the senior executive team to understand their business functions and formulate appropriate strategies and messages to achieve those objectives
- Ensure two way communications channels are defined and maintained throughout the program
- Track all communications feedback, ensure identified issues are addressed and actioned
- Oversee all project communications, including presentations, newsletter articles, and intranet updates to ensure consistency of messages, styles, and that they are fit for purpose and audience.
About you:
You will have a track record delivering first class internal communications within a programme & project management environment, gained within large complex environment. You will bring an understanding of the importance of good stakeholder management, solid planning and - above all - high-impact and credible hands-on delivery. You'll be comfortable devising and shaping plans within a constantly changing commercial environment.
You'll also be adept at building key senior relationships, and of exerting your influence. Good written and face communication skills are a must.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, communications or related discipline
- Minimum of 10 + years developing internal communications strategies working in large projects
- Exposure to unionised environments is advantageous
- Technically superior business writing and communication skills
- Thinks strategically, executes programs against timelines and meets commitments
- Strong negotiation skills and an ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- High energy level - displays enthusiasm and self-motivation
- Solid understanding of communications methodologies and internal communications best practice.
- A passion for exploring and implementing innovative ways of reaching audiences within the business.
