Bishop Grosseteste University’s recently developed five year strategy highlights Research, Knowledge Exchange and External Engagement as key priorities for the future development. These areas form key strategic priorities within Bishop Grosseteste University Strategic Plan 2014-19 which has recently been re-approved by the University’s Council. This ambitious strategy focuses on enhancing research credibility through developments that supplement and complement the University’s achievements in research and knowledge exchange.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor this role is a strategic academic leadership post with responsibility for leading and developing institution wide approaches to research, knowledge exchange and UK and International engagement. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate a successful record of achievement in grant capture, income generation and stakeholder engagement.
The post holder will have a significant cross institutional remit and be expected to have a high level of external engagement, including deputising for the Deputy Vice Chancellor as required.
Successful candidates must have a doctorate in a subject area compatible with those offered by the University and a strong record of successful leadership of research and scholarship activity. Professorial title is available to candidates who meet the University’s criteria.
Evidence of successfully building collaborative and effective teams and implementing innovative solutions to research and external engagement challenges will also be critical. A successful track record in identifying, developing and maintaining effective relationships, with a range of partners, to deliver sustainable knowledge transfer programmes, will be required. The post holder will need highly developed interpersonal skills and possess the vision, energy and passion to deliver transformational change.
