Detail information about job UCL, Strategic Philanthropy Manager (International). Terms and conditions vacancy

It’s All Academic…

We seek a motivated, innovative individual with outstanding fundraising skills to join our highly successful Office of the Vice-Provost (Development) in the role of Strategic Philanthropy Manager (International).

Philanthropy at UCL is about more than raising funds to support projects – it is about breaking down barriers, providing opportunities, and supporting the University to challenge convention, think differently and solve global challenges. In September 2016, UCL launched a bold new global philanthropic ‘It’s All Academic’ Campaign with the goal of raising £600 million. At its heart is the radical, disruptive thinking that has been at the core of UCL since our founding in 1826. One year into the Campaign we are delighted to have reached a £300 million milestone. Our principal gift activity is essential in us reaching our full Campaign goal. Our approach to principal gifts is forward-thinking and collaborative, it’s unique, just like UCL’s culture.

As a Strategic Philanthropy Manager (International), you will be a key figure within UCL’s Principal Gift team. You will build highly strategic relationships with a diverse range of partners in order to raise income at the seven and eight figure level from individual philanthropists, family trusts, foundations and corporate supporters in North America, to support Campaign priority projects. You will play a critical role in connecting the senior academic community and leadership team with philanthropists in North America and will be expected to travel.

The successful candidate will have significant fundraising experience and a proven track record of securing income at the seven and eight figure level. You will excel in working within a results-oriented environment, and bring demonstrated experience in establishing creditability and managing a complex set of relationships with high net worth individuals and stakeholders across organisation. We are pleased to accept applications from individuals who possess transferable skills and experience drawn from other sectors, as well as from candidates seeking part-time opportunities (minimum 0.6 FTE – equivalent of three days per week, with salary pro-rata). Also, we particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates, as they are under-represented within UCL at this level.

We know that our people are our greatest asset and in return we provide an empowering, values-based environment where personal and professional growth is invested in. We offer agile working and flexibility around working hours. We also value mutual respect and collaboration, and have a strong customer-service ethic. Expectations are high and we work hard, but the rewards are huge.

UCL is an outstanding place to work. We welcome people from all backgrounds and strive to create an environment where everyone can give of their best. Working with some of the greatest intellects in the world, you will also be entitled to a generous pension scheme and holiday allowance.

We are being supported in this search by executive search firm Perrett Laver. Applications should consist of a full CV and covering letter detailing academic and professional qualifications, employment history, latest remuneration and relevant achievements. For further particulars and to apply for this role, please visit https://candidates.perrettlaver.com/vacancies/ quoting reference 3227. The closing date for applications is 9.00am GMT on Monday 9th October 2017.

Competitive salary and benefits package, salary commensurate on experience.
