The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be One post  - £34,056 - £36,923 per annum; Two posts - £34,056 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

The successful applicants will be involved in a project aimed at understanding the mechanisms through which leucine-rich alpha-2-glycoprotein 1 (LRG1) regulates pathological angiogenesis (see Wang et al., 2013. Nature 499:306-311). In particular, they will investigate how LRG1 corrupts the normal angiogenic process, its influence on vessel stabilization and maturation, crosstalk between endothelial cells and pericytes and the effect of therapeutic intervention on these processes. The project will involve the use of various in vivo ocular and cancer angiogenic models, cell and molecular biological techniques, cell signaling, and extensive microscopic techniques. The work will be carried out at UCL’s Institute of Ophthalmology.

The positions are funded by the Wellcome Trust until 31st May 2022 in the first instance.

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant subject area. Skills in vascular biology, angiogenesis or neovascularisation are essential. Experience in, cell signaling and confocal microscopy are desirable.
