Applications are invited for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Linguistics with a specialization in syntax in the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics. This appointment is a permanent position, starting 1 February 2018.

You will be expected to teach and coordinate undergraduate and postgraduate courses in linguistics.  You will also be expected to supervise postgraduate students and to contribute actively to the research culture of the Linguistics Discipline and the School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics.

You will have a PhD in Linguistics with a proven track record of research and teaching at the university level. Experience coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate lecture courses is required, as is research expertise.  A specialization in syntax is required, including an active research program in syntactic theory. A further specialization in Austronesian/Oceanic languages is preferred, as is experience conducting linguistic fieldwork.
