Location: University Park

Salary: £38,183 to £46,924 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

This is a highly interdisciplinary post focussed upon the clean synthesis of polymers and utilisation of renewable resources. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing support and day to dayleadership and supervision of a large, highly specialised research groupunder the incoming Head of School Prof. Steve Howdle (www.nottingham.ac.uk/~pczctg/Index.htm).      

Candidates should have a PhD in Chemistry or a closely related discipline and extensive postdoctoral experience in Polymer Chemistry demonstrating key skills. In addition, candidates should have a proven ability in innovative and effective polymer based experimental research covering controlled/living polymerisation and / or step growth polymer chemistry using a wide range of strategies to develop functional polymeric materials. The candidate should also demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of polymer characterisation methodologies. Good communication skills, experience of interdisciplinary research, the ability to collaborate effectively with senior and junior colleagues both in industry and academia, and a good publication track record in peer-reviewed journals commensurate with the stage of career are all essential.

This post is available from 1st September 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 4 years.
