Imperial College is currently developing a new and innovative campus at White City with the research activities of the Department of Chemistry being the first academic department to occupy space. This is an exciting time for both the College and the Department giving both an excellent opportunity to expand and further develop the teaching of undergraduates across the College Campuses. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Laboratory Manager. We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Chemist keen to be at the forefront of the drive toward new methods of teaching in Chemistry. You will be part of the team responsible for the planning and delivery of chemistry teaching to undergraduate students, engaging with an exciting range of modules comprising taught laboratory classes and projects for undergraduate students. You will lead our skilled technical team and be responsible for the day-to-day management of the chemistry teaching laboratories.

Demonstrating an innovative approach to laboratory operations within the higher education sector, you will play a key role in developing and fostering various inter-team relationships.

You must have a degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related subject, together with experience of practical laboratory teaching. You will also have experience of management of laboratories and related health and safety issues. Experience of managing a team is also essential.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a good level of IT literacy, particularly with standard packages such as MS Office.
