The Communications, Marketing & Student Recruitment (CMSR) department is sector-leading and has been highly decorated - winning a number of prestigious HEIST awards. The department has helped the University to achieve growth over a number of years, and is responsible for all aspects of the University’s marketing, UK and international recruitment, admissions, widening participation and outreach, and all communications and branding.
The University is currently in a unique position to recruit both a new Director and Associate Director to work together in devising and delivering a best in class marketing strategy to continue to elevate the brand, and ultimately drive student recruitment both domestically and internationally.
Role
Reporting in to the newly appointed Director – CMSR, the Associate Director will provide leadership across a number of teams involved in marketing and student recruitment (UK/EU and International), Admissions and Applicant Experience and Widening Participation. Through those teams, they will use multiple communication channels (offline and digital) to ensure strong, integrated campaigns are produced with the ultimate goal of increasing student application and enrolment numbers.
The Associate Director will also take the strategic lead for the development of the University of Gloucestershire student recruitment strategy including development of all campaigns, using the full range of communication channels to produce strong, creative integrated campaigns making full use of the strengths and specialisms of the teams across the department.
Person
The successful candidate for the Associate Director role will be educated to degree level and hold a post graduate marketing qualification e.g. CIM / CIPR. In addition, the key criteria are:
- Experience of working in a Higher Education setting in the area of marketing and student recruitment
- A strong understanding of the student recruitment cycle in Higher Education and how to tailor multi-channel campaigns to maximise results
- Being a skilled and motivating leader of teams, with strong communication and influencing skills
- Demonstrable experience of managing budgets effectively in order to develop and run successful brand and communications campaigns
- Experience of CRM and stakeholder management
- The ability to work in an environment that promotes engagement, diversity and inclusion
