Detail information about job CIPHER/NCPHWR Programme Manager. Terms and conditions vacancy

The normal expectation is that the successful applicant will be appointed to the minimum of the scale with annual increments on 1st October each year (subject to completing six months service).

Main Purpose of the Post

The Programme Manager will be a major contributor to, and be responsible for, the strategic development and operational delivery of the activities of both the Farr Institute CIPHER and the National Centre for Population Health & Wellbeing in support of their respective key objectives and performance indicators across the partner institutions. A member of each Centres’ respective Management Groups, the postholder will coordinate with the partner institutions to ensure that staffs across all sites are able to work effectively and flexibly in meeting the Centres’ overall objectives. They will represent the Centres in their key external relationships with stakeholder organisations at local and UK level. They will work with all partners to develop, implement and manage effective systems to deliver the operational and service functions of the Centres. The post-holder will be required to have extensive knowledge of the management of £M programmes and projects. They will be an experienced senior manager who can blend knowledge across different functional areas and have effective negotiation skills in building and maintaining relationships at organisational and at a senior level to support each Centre’s objectives. They will have responsibility for the line management of the Centre’s staff in Swansea as well as oversight of the operation of the other site staff.
